    Bareges

    The hilltop villages

Sers, Betpouey, Viey and Viella are villages with mountain architecture perched on the mountainside. In summer, they are the starting points for walks for all levels. In winter, the roofs covered with snow and the smoke that escapes from the chimneys give them a warm atmosphere, typical of winter in the mountains.

Take the time to discover their heritage steeped in history: churches, washhouses, fountains... Each of them has a surprise in store for you!

À Sers, the oratory of Saint Justin which overlooks the village is worth the detour, as is the good food. At Rosette's where an excellent garbure is served. During your stay, you will share the life of the inhabitants of an authentic mountain. You will also discover the local heritage while being at the heart of exceptional sites.

    Spotlight on...

    Saint-Justin's Oratory

Easily accessible in summer, the oratory St. Justin is an ideal place to have a clear view of the valley. After a walk of a few minutes, you will dominate the landscape, perched above the villages of Pays Toy. The place is perfect to recharge your batteries and fill up with pure and fresh air.

    Valley of Luz

    The hilltop villages

A multitude of villages dot the landscape of Pays Toy. Esquieze-Sere, authentic village where life is good, conceals historical riches: two churches, cobbled streets, typical doors, lintels... Visas, the smallest of all, is worth the detour for its view which magnificently overlooks the valley! On the side of Shaligos, the organic bakery is an unmissable stop! After visiting the bakery, you will be tempted by the irresistible smell of the many types of bread, sweet or savoury.

À Cheze, you will discover a splendid dovecote, higher than the bell tower of the XNUMXth century church. Then, when you go to Grust, you will have fun identifying the surrounding peaks thanks to an orientation table located at the very top of the village. AT Sazos, do not miss the guided tour of the water mills before strolling through the narrow streets to admire its pretty stone houses with terraced gardens. As you will have understood, each village has its charms and its specificities, impossible to miss them!
