Discover the mountains in a different way...

This ancestral practice dates back more than 10,000 years, snowshoeing is an activity for the whole family. Just set your own pace and enjoy beautiful scenery all the way along marked trails.

In the heart of the Lienz forest, nearly 15km of marked trails allow you to discover the secrets and charms of the Barèges Valley.

Marked routes

Barèges and its surrounding area are a great place for snowshoeing. Numerous walks and hikes, for all levels, are possible from the village, the Lienz plateau or Tournaboup car park. The Lienz plateau is an exceptional site for Nordic activities such as dog sledding, cross-country skiing (unmarked tracks) or ski touring (Ayré forest).

For those wishing to get closer to nature and discover the wild side of the Gavarnie Valleys, mountain guides are available on a full or half-day basis.
