The thermal waters of Barèges
The Gavarnie valleys are all full of thermal waters with differing curative properties. Those of Barèges are renowned for the treatment of rheumatic diseases and other chronic diseases such as fibromyalgia and algodystrophy, but also for all ENT problems in young children and adults.
In this small village perched at 1250m above sea level, this thermal spa is the highest in France! It is here that you can benefit from the curative properties of its sulphurous waters, its natural mountain environment and its climate which is particularly good for respiratory diseases.
Taken from the granite depths where they have remained for 9000 years, these waters are a gold mine of natural properties.
Cieléo, the wellbeing center
The thermal water of Barèges is a not only a care treatment for the body but also a bathing experience of pure mental relaxation at a temperature of 34 degrees. Ciéléo, the wellness and relaxation area, offers a pool, a Jacuzzi, a sauna and a steam room for a complete well-being experience.
This experience at the foot of the Pic du Midi de Bigorre is set under a dome illuminated by the stars of the Milky Way; a simply beautiful decor! And to add to this sensory experience, the Jacuzzi under its glass dome offers a calming view of the valley and the Ardiden massif.
The Napoleon III nave and the Institute
The Napoléon III Nave is an original part of the baths, and its most majestic part too; made famous by the Emperor who came to visit his mother Hortense de Beauharnais here when she was "taking the waters" in the Pyrenees.
Private care treatments are on offer here: thermal mud wraps, Jacuzzi Duo, jet pool or a © Barégine massage - a natural micro-organism that significantly soothes aches and pains ... a real treasure from the centre of the earth!
Extend your Zen getaway at L'Institut where massages and facials await you in a relaxing setting and a cocooning atmosphere ... an invitation to pure serenity and relaxation.
