Enjoy a guided tour to discover the industrial heritage of the Gavarnie Valleys and one of the largest hydroelectric plants in the Pyrenees. Discover the art of harvesting water, in the footsteps of the builders of Pyrenean dams.
Commissioned in 1954, the EDF hydropower plant in Pragnères is part of a complex system in the heart of the Gavarnie Valleys. This development has 40 kilometres of tunnels, four dams including the one at Cap de Long, 30 water hydrants, a production plant and two pumping stations.
