Canyoning is a water sports activity that consists of following a water course via a succession of jumps, small rappels and natural slides. Fun and open to everyone!
It is an outdoor activity that allows you to swim in beautiful bays in turquoise waters, walk amongst beautiful scenery and observe the fauna and flora. This activity of discovery is an original way of immerse yourself in an exceptional environment accessible only through this one route. It is safe and supervised by an approved guide.
The via ferrata is a route combining the pleasures of hiking with climbing, along rock walls attached to a cable that provides security, and metal hooks embedded in the rock. Making open air climbing accessible to everyone!
Discover two Via Ferrata locations: at Luz-Saint-Sauveur at the foot of the imposing Napoléon’s Bridge and at Coumély with an incredible panoramic view of the Gavarnie Cirque.
Supervised outings are available with guides who provide the necessary equipment. This is the best way to discover and learn about this activity, which is adrenaline fuelled but also accessible to everyone. These two Via Ferrata are also free to use for experienced climbers (own equipment necessary). You do not have to be a climber or an athletic type to try Via Ferrata!

Your first time? To make your first experience a good one, professionals are available to help you get to grips with climbing and rope techniques. “Le Rocher de Prat” climbing school is great for beginners and an ideal place to start your climbing experience with quick and easy access to the mountain environment.
• Indoor climbing
Indoor climbing is first and foremost about enjoying yourself in all seasons. For climbers, it is also about keeping your hand in. For beginners, this is the ideal place to learn and acquire the right techniques before climbing outdoors.
The Gèdre climbing hall is 18 metres high and offers circuits for all levels and a bloc climbing area. Experienced climbers climb alone using the ropes and quick draws; harnesses and descenders are not provided. There is no equipment rental on site, this can be found in mountain stores in Gavarnie.
Would you like to learn the basic techniques of tying a rope and belaying so that you can climb independently in the hall? Let’s go! 2 hour group climbing lessons are available (minimum 5 people) and material is included.
