Today parish church it was part until the French Revolution of a very influential Benedictine monastery in the valley.
It dates from the XNUMXth century and will be completed in the Gothic period by an elevation of the walls and the bell tower.
Listed as a Historic Monument since 1840, it is characterized by a very rich collection of movable objects: Roman sarcophagus of Saint-Savin, paintings recounting his life from the end of the 1557th century, wooden ciborium and Christ from the XNUMXth century and Renaissance organ dated XNUMX.
Admission to the Abbey is free (no guided tour for individuals).
