92 years ago already... Following the construction of the road from Pic du Midi de Bigorre, in 1930, a walking race was then organized at the beginning of September, for advertising purposes and this was repeated for three years. All sportsmen and mountaineers in the region were invited to participate.
The race offers a route of 24 km for 1300 m of elevation gain between the village of Barèges and Pic du Midi.
