Nordic skiing, cross-country skiing, what is it?
Nordic skiing brings together several Scandinavian-type disciplines, including cross-country skiing. The latter is practiced in Nordic ski areas, on groomed slopes. Two techniques exist, classic cross-country skiing and skating.
The classic consists of progressing on two parallel rails by giving impulses forward, sometimes with the left foot, sometimes with the right foot. The arms act as a balance to accompany these movements.
SKATINGSkating, also called the skater's step, is freer and allows you to progress by sliding like on ice skates, leaving a V-shaped trace behind you.
A versatile sport
In both classic and skating, this sport provides the same benefits as running but without the impacts that can traumatize the joints. It is an excellent way to work on cardio and burns a maximum of calories. It works the legs, buttocks and arms…
A great sport to stay in shape!
Another advantage is that it is a practice without ski lifts. We progress on groomed slopes, of course, but in places very little transformed by man. Far from the crowds, you are alone facing the restful calm of the mountain, in the heart of nature.
A perfect way to treat yourself to some time for yourself and a breath of fresh air, good for the body and the soul.
